My Soul Search Through Gypsy Flamenco by Roberto Zamora
Over forty years of immersion in Gypsy Culture come to Art Ark Gallery. Painting with the passion of a performer, Roberto's body of work takes you on a journey to the deepest roots of Flamenco. His vibrant colors clash against dark undertones evoking a strong emotional response and sensations of Compas, which is flamenco language for "pulse" and rhythm.
The Artist's life size representations of dancers, singers and guitarists, often under the spotlight of the moon, intensify the themes of tradition, heritage, love and pain that accompany his personalities on canvas. Spend time with the images and you are sure to hear the rhythms of Alegrias (happiness) alternate with Soleas (solitude).
If you love Flamenco, this is a rare exhibition you will not want to miss. The opening reception is set to be magical. Meet Roberto and be prepared to accompany his chants with Ole! With many of Roberto's flamenco friends present, guitarists at hand and a beckoning stage under a new moon, October 4th, 2013 will be a night to remember.
My Soul Search Through Gypsy Flamenco will be part of a documentary that is now one year in the making. Be sure to visit the links to learn about gallery hours, other activities, the movie and the night of October 4th.
